The 2005 massacre refers to the killing of innocent Ethiopians by the government security forces and TPLF’s Agazi elite military division during June and November 2005 which led to the death of more than 193 protesters and injury of thousands of people. More than 30,000 people were detained by security forces and TPLF’s Agazi military division following the election, most released in 2006 and some still not found.
